Pathway to Living has started pre-leasing at Heartis Village of North Shore, a 105-unit senior living community in Glendale, Wis., that is scheduled to open in February 2019.

Pathway to Living, a Chicago-based developer, owner and operator of senior living communities, today announced the start of pre-leasing at Heartis Village North Shore, a 105-unit assisted living and memory care community in Glendale, Wis. Situated on 12 acres at 100 W. River Woods Parkway, about 10 minutes north of Milwaukee, the community is scheduled to open in February 2019.

“We are very excited to be a part of the team bringing this high-end senior living community to Milwaukee’s North Shore,” said Maria Oliva, chief operating officer at Pathway to Living, which will operate the community on behalf of its developer, Caddis Healthcare Real Estate. “Heartis Village North Shore is being built on a beautiful site that will afford picturesque views of the Milwaukee River throughout the various seasons. Seniors from the North Shore who love the area and want to remain near friends and family now have a great new option that also provides for their future healthcare needs.”

When complete, Heartis Village North Shore will feature well-appointed assisted living units and a thoughtfully designed memory care neighborhood. The 71 assisted living apartments, which range in size from 315 to 917 square feet, include a mix of studio, one-bedroom/one-bath and two-bedroom/two-bath layouts, each with a kitchenette. Meanwhile, the 34 memory care studios, located in a secure neighborhood on the community’s ground level, range in size from 293 to 306 feet.

In addition, the community will offer a variety of on-site amenities designed to promote wellness, independence and socialization. For assisted living residents, these include: two restaurants – the Grand View Restaurant and Bistro 100; entertainment spaces including Silver Spring Theatre and Bayside Piano Lounge; and the Sundara Salon and Spa. Other offerings include a library, demonstration kitchen, exercise and therapy gym, and two outdoor courtyards with walking paths.

Memory care residents will enjoy their own suite of amenities, including the country kitchen; living room, a homelike space where they can relax, socialize and host guests; and a secure outdoor courtyard with a walking path and raised winter garden. Residents of the memory care neighborhood also benefit from A Knew Day, Pathway to Living’s signature program that is proven to provide rehabilitation for the brain – a process called rementia – helping seniors with memory impairment become more engaged and communicative.

Other enriching programs for residents include Pathway to Living’s award-winning VIVA! philosophy, where social, educational and recreational programs are matched with residents’ interests, skills and desires. For example, Art Path teaches techniques used by famed artists, sculptors and curators. Residents also will have opportunities to participate in field trips and adventures organized by Pathway to Living, such as visits to area farms, horseback riding excursions and overnight camping trips.

“At each of the senior living communities we operate, we hear from families who say the extensive programming and personalized care have dramatically improved their loved ones’ quality of life,” Oliva said. “Through these experiences, many of our residents are able to enjoy activities they haven’t been able to for decades – or try something exciting for the very first time.”

Located off Interstate 43, Heartis Village North Shore also puts residents close to retail and restaurant offerings. It is the third Heartis-owned community to be managed by Pathway to Living, which also operates Heartis Village of Peoria, a 108-unit assisted living and memory care community in Peoria, Ill., that opened in 2016, and Heartis Village of Orland Park, a 96-unit assisted living and memory care community that opened in Orland Park, Ill., in 2018.

A welcome center showcasing Heartis Village’s finishes, services and amenities is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 5150 N. Port Washington Road, Suite N115 – about a mile north of the community in Glendale. Team members available to answer questions and provide information on the new community include Sue Kubiak and Christine Denton, who joins the staff on Sept. 24.

Pathway to Living is offering a Club Thirty membership for the first 30 residents who place a deposit on an apartment at Heartis Village North Shore. Members will receive a refund of $500 a month for the first four months of residency and a moving credit up to $500. Other benefits include one free guest meal per month for the first year, a housewarming party for up to 10 guests, and an annual birthday dinner prepared by an on-site chef for up to 10 guests.
