CA Senior Living LLC, the senior housing investment and development division of Chicago-based CA Ventures, today announced construction is underway on Atria at River Trail, a 128-unit senior living community at the corner of Washington Street and Royce Road in Bolingbrook, Ill.

Located next to DuPage River Park at 350 N. Weber Road, the $37 million development will offer a mix of private and shared assisted living apartments and memory care studios with views of the adjacent parks and fields. Louisville-based Atria Senior Living will operate the community, which is scheduled to open in late summer 2018.

Atria is a leading operator of independent living, assisted living, supportive living and memory care communities, with approximately 200 locations across the U.S. and Canada, including two near Chicago: Atria Park of Glen Ellyn and The Solana Deer Park. Construction is also underway on a third community, Atria Glenview, in Glenview.

“Atria at River Trail will meet the growing need for modern, lifestyle-oriented senior housing in the Bolingbrook and Naperville area,” said Ben Burke, president of CA Senior Living. “The amenity package, service offerings and thoughtful design will be unlike anything currently available in the area, making Atria at River Trail a great new option for the growing population of seniors who want to live in the area to remain close to friends and family.”

When complete, Atria at River Trail will offer 86 assisted living residences in a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom plans, each with one or two baths. All assisted living units will feature full kitchens with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. The community will also incorporate cutting-edge technology into the daily lives of residents with Skynet Healthcare Technologies’ first-generation, wearable devices, which enhance resident safety and well-being, monitor activity participation and measure staff efficiency.

The remaining 42 residences, located on the first floor, will be devoted to residents requiring memory care. The state-of-the-art Life Guidance neighborhood will include thoughtfully designed areas to maximize resident engagement in a lively, communal setting. The Life Guidance program takes an individualized approach to memory care, drawing on each resident’s history and strong staff-resident relationships.

“Atria at River Trail will bring a full continuum of care to residents,” said Burke. “This is important to many seniors, including those who are moving in with a spouse who might require higher levels of care.”

Atria at River Trail’s amenities will include a full-service dining room, private dining area that can be reserved for family gatherings or special events, and a separate bistro-style option. The community will also feature gathering spaces such as an all-seasons room, shared living room, activity room, theater and library. Additional offerings will include a salon, a fitness center and space for residents to receive essential services, such as physician consultations.

Designed by the Chicago office of Harley Ellis Devereaux to match its pastoral setting, Atria at River Trail will also offer several outdoor areas. Assisted living residents will have access to a rooftop terrace with outdoor seating, as well as a landscaped courtyard. Memory care residents will have exclusive use of a second courtyard.

The building’s common spaces, both indoors and outdoors, are designed to foster social connectivity and will host more than 200 monthly events under Atria’s signature Engage Life program, providing residents with opportunities for continual learning, personal growth and fulfillment. Through the Engage Life program, residents will be offered access to two instructor-led fitness opportunities daily, along with other events based on resident preferences and interests.

“We are very excited to expand our relationship with CA Senior Living by bringing our signature services and programs to Atria at River Trail,” said Tommy Wood, senior vice president, central operations, for Atria Senior Living. “From our friendly team members to our thoughtfully programmed events, we put quality first to make everyone who steps inside our doors instantly feel welcome and, in the case of our residents, at home.”

Atria at River Trail is conveniently located near retail, restaurant and service offerings at the intersection of Weber and Boughton roads. They include Jewel-Osco and Meijer grocery stores, a Regal Cinemas movie theater and several restaurants. The community is also close to nearby expressways, including Interstates 55 and 355.

CA Senior Living opened its first senior community in 2016 and now has 16 communities currently operating or under construction.

Atria at River Trail is now pre-leasing apartments. For more information, contact community sales director Robin Polick at (331) 253-6511.
