Allied Orion Group names principal Ricardo Rivas as chief executive officer

Rivas Takes on Additional Role, Leading Firm in New Directions

Allied Orion Group, a multifamily investment, construction and property management firm, has named Principal Ricardo Rivas as Chief Executive Officer. Rivas, who currently serves as Principal and Chief Investment Officer, will now oversee the strategic and operational growth of Allied Orion Group as well as spearhead the company’s vision to expand in new directions.

His new responsibilities include overseeing the overall operations of Allied Orion Group’s investment, construction and property management, along with leading the executive management team to carry out major initiatives and business plans. In addition, Rivas will aim to expand the company’s business relationships to increase the firm’s ownership and property management footprint throughout the United States.

Rivas has directed or assisted in the development of more than 3,600 multifamily units with a total aggregate value of more than $460 million. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council where he serves on the Workforce Housing Committee and the Membership Engagement Committee as vice chair, the Urban Land Institute and the Houston Apartment Association. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Ricardo is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. He received his Master of Science in Accountancy with honors from the University of Houston and his Master of Business Administration with honors from the University of North Alabama. Ricardo earned his undergraduate degree as a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of North Alabama.

Rivas joined Allied Orion Group in 2001 as assistant superintendent and later moved to assistant property manager. In 2002, he was promoted to development officer that evolved into vice president of development, where he was responsible for new multifamily developments. In 2013, he was named chief investment officer and in 2016, became a principal of the firm. Rivas is a frequent featured speaker on industry panels, including National Multifamily Housing Council, Bisnow events, and the Urban Land Institute.
