Cornerstone At Stafford is another Walters community designed to meet the needs of seniors.

Walters has nearly completed construction of Cornerstone At Stafford which will bring 100 premium age (55+) and income-restricted residences to Manahawkin. Located at 120 Campbell Blvd., the community is part of the large-scale Stafford Park redevelopment accessible just off Exit 63 of the Garden State Parkway. The first residents are expected to move in by March 2019.

Cornerstone At Stafford is a multifamily neighborhood of apartment living with one- and two-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 626 square feet to 1,086 square feet. The three-story building is designed to fit the needs of seniors with high-end amenities in each apartment featuring upgraded kitchens with granite countertops and a full appliance package, washer and dryer, wood grain vinyl planking and emergency alarm system. Residents have access to public spaces that include a clubhouse with gathering rooms, fitness center, lounges and computer workstations. Organized activities and events will be offered by the onsite property managers and a social services coordinator.

“This will be a stunning modern community, offering exceptional housing options for seniors,” said Joseph Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters. “The building is designed to be green which will help improve the health and wellbeing of residents while saving energy, environmental resources and money.”

Del Duca added that Walters uses environmentally friendly “green” technologies in the construction of all its new developments. Buildings are designed and constructed to achieve LEED® certification and ENERGY STAR® status. The point-based LEED program is overseen by the USGBC which rates projects based on a structure’s characteristics and the building methods employed during construction. To be considered for certification, a project must meet certain standards for energy efficiency and sustainability of materials, among a number of other criteria.

Cornerstone At Stafford will feature non-invasive landscaping, the use of recycled materials during construction and a close proximity to local retailers. In addition, Energy Star appliances will help residents with long-term reductions in utility costs.

Located in Ocean County, the community is ideally situated near shopping, dining and recreational opportunities. Residents can take advantage of their close proximity to Long Beach Island, Barnegat Bay, local beaches and Atlantic City.

Cornerstone At Stafford will be open to older adults who do not make more than 60 percent of the county’s median income.
