Darren Pierce has been promoted to President of ZRS Management, LLC (ZRS) replacing long-time President Steve Buck who will continue in his role as CEO of one of the largest independent third-party multifamily property management firms in the United States.
Pierce joined ZRS in 2016 as Vice President to help grow the organization by leveraging his experience with some of the nation’s most successful real estate investment firms. By bringing an “ownership mindset” to ZRS, Pierce has played an instrumental role in nearly doubling the number of units under management to 60,000, according to CEO Buck.
“Darren has done a great job teaching our associates to think more like an owner so that they can fully understand our clients’ motivations, end goals, and definitions of success,” said Buck. “Whether it’s a lease-up, stabilized or value-add community, we understand how to run that strategy and our growth is a testimony to our ability to effectively execute the business plan for our clients. Darren deserves a lot of credit for that.”
Prior to joining ZRS, Pierce was Vice President of Asset Management with Crescent Communities where he oversaw the long-term performance of the firm’s multifamily portfolio. Previously, he spent five years with the multifamily company Archstone.
“We don’t take on new business just for the sake of taking on business,” added Pierce. “Our growth has been driven by client relationships and focusing on not overextending ourselves. It’s the strong bond we have with our clients that sets us apart. Our team creates value for our clients by understanding their goals and working to execute that vision every day. While we continue to grow, we will maintain Steve’s culture of direct dialogue and openness with our team members, clients and residents. Our employee and client focused approach is the core strength of our organization.”
Pierce earned a BS in Business Administration from American University, Kogod School of Business and an MBA from Wake Forest University, graduating with honors.
