The unit mix includes studios, one-, two- and three-bedrooms ranging from 444 to 1,850 square feet – all with top-of-market finishes including contemporary kitchens with islands, stone countertops, tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances, sleek plank flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows, and in-unit washers and dryers. Private balconies and oversized terraces afford many residences with views of the Potomac River and the U.S. Capitol.

J.Coopers Row – a luxury multifamily development by Jefferson Apartment Group (JAG) and The FORTIS Companies – has delivered in the thriving Capitol Riverfront submarket of Washington, D.C. Standing at 110 feet and 12 stories at 1319 South Capitol Street SW, the 312-unit high-rise sits on 0.7 acres overlooking Nationals Park baseball stadium.

“J.Coopers Row is a premier luxury high-rise in a prized location which has taken patience and dedication to entitle and develop,” said Greg Van Wie, JAG’s Senior Vice President, Development Partner. “We’re particularly pleased to execute on the vision to transform an underutilized site on one of D.C.’s grand urban boulevards and gateways to the Capitol.”

The project also offers lifestyle amenities including a penthouse-level sky lounge with gaming, social areas, and a private dining room; a leading-edge fitness center with a studio; a co-working area with micro-offices; a maker space; dog run; pet spa; and 24/7 concierge service.

The amenities package at J.Coopers Row reflects JAG’s luxury signature, as well as its setting. The rooftop swimming pool and outdoor lounge areas showcase Nationals Park directly across the street, and residents can watch live sports, concerts and other events with views into the stadium. The project will be LEED Gold and features solar panels, a green roof, EV charging stations, and a smoke-free environment.

J.Coopers Row sits at the corner of South Capitol and N Streets on the site of the former World War IIera James T. Warring Sons factory where barrels and shipping containers were manufactured for the nearby Navy Yard. The name J.Coopers Row reflects the site’s history and the “coopers” that crafted the wood barrels, as they were known.

The character of the existing rowhomes and factory inspired the architecture of the project. The building’s façade combines historical brick detailing with modern architectural window systems that provide floor-to-ceiling vistas and abundant natural light.

The development also preserves and incorporates the historic character of six rowhomes, which were built between 1892 and 1900 and are some of the last-remaining examples of the historic fabric of old Southwest D.C. The development is one block from the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro station on the Green Line and is walkable to Audi Field and nearby neighborhood amenities, including The Yards, The Boilermaker Shops, the Navy Yard, the Southwest Waterfront and The Wharf. It’s just a 5-minute walk to water taxi services to Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria and the National Harbor. In addition, the location affords easy access to I-695 and I-395.
