HSR Completes Construction on 150-unit Mixed-Use Multifamily Community The James in Kirkwood Missouri

HSR and its project partners – including Greystar Management, ESG Architecture & Design, and Brinkmann Constructors – celebrated the grand opening of the 152-unit residential building this month. Residents began moving into the new apartments on February 1, 2024.

High Street Residential (HSR), the residential subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, has completed construction at The James Kirkwood, a five-story multifamily community in the Greater St. Louis area.

“The James project in Kirkwood has brought a thoughtfully designed, luxury apartment building to a community that has not seen this type of new product in 20 years,” said Mary Boehmler of HSR. “Leasing got off to a strong start in the fall and the momentum has carried into 2024, with a significant portion of the units already spoken for. We’re excited to welcome our new residents and provide a high-end and unmatched living experience in Kirkwood’s historic downtown.”

Located at 416 N. Kirkwood Road, The James Kirkwood is the HSR’s first multifamily project in Kirkwood. The property includes a mix of studio to three-bedroom apartments, including a selection of one- and two-bedroom apartments that have an added den. Amenities include a club room, a private dining area, a fitness club with a yoga studio, a guest suite available for tenants’ overnight visitors, a work-from-home center, a pet wash and pet exercise area, indoor bike storage, and an outdoor amenity terrace with a resort-style pool, grill stations, outdoor lawn games and firepit.

The building includes 285 parking spaces, including 185 covered spaces for residents and 100 surface spaces for guests and users of the building’s 7,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and its public plaza. Thus far, UMB Bank is signed on to occupy part of the retail space.
