“I am excited to join the Kidder Mathews valuation team. The company’s growth throughout the West Coast has been impressive over the past few years. I’m confident its unique business platform and top-notch support teams with state-of-the-art market research on all property types will allow our team to deliver best-in-class service to our clients,” said Sammak.

Kidder Mathews welcomes appraisal team, Babak Sammak, Michael Thiel, MAI and Tommy Stuebe, specialists in market-rate and affordable multifamily properties, to the firm’s Valuation Advisory Services in San Diego and Los Angeles.

Sammak and Thiel have been named senior vice presidents and will office in San Diego, while Stuebe will join as vice president based in Los Angeles. The team will collaborate closely with Senior Vice President Bill Drewes, MAI, and Research Analyst Will Drewes at Kidder Mathews’ Los Angeles office.

Babak Sammak is a state-certified appraiser licensed in California, Arizona, and Nevada, bringing over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate valuation. Thiel holds the prestigious MAI designation (Member, Appraisal Institute) and has been a commercial real estate appraiser for over 30 years. Stuebe adds depth to the team with his background and prior collaboration with Sammak and Thiel at CBRE, contributing to their extensive track record in leading the Southern California Affordable Housing Group.

They specialize in appraisals for various institutions and agencies, including market studies for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Rent Comparability Studies (RCS) for HUD, as well as state tax credit agencies. Examples include the 710-unit Park 12 multifamily property in San Diego adjacent to Petco Park, and the 285-unit low-income senior housing Westminster Towers in Santa Monica.
