Garden Communities this month celebrated the grand opening of 147 Columbia, the newest luxury apartment community in downtown Florham Park.
Local officials and law enforcement representatives joined Garden Communities and other key stakeholders at the invitation-only event, which featured a flag raising and ribbon cutting ceremony. The program included comments from Florham Park Mayor Mark Taylor and Scott Loventhal, managing director of Garden Communities.
“I want to thank the Garden Communities team, our Planning Board leadership and everyone involved in the process of getting this building ready,” Mayor Taylor said. “This is a great new beginning for Florham Park and certainly for the residents who move here and can walk throughout town. They’re going to have a great place to live in the heart of our outstanding community.”
With 126 oversized rental residences, 147 Columbia sits with high visibility at the intersection of Columbia Turnpike and Hanover Avenue. “As part of the site approval plan for this prominent corner property, we thought it would be appropriate to pay respect to and raise the American flag,” Loventhal said.
“We’ve watched with admiration over the past 15 years as the Florham Park planning board and administration have done such an incredible job with this downtown,” he added. “We are really proud to be a part of enabling those who have lived here all of their lives, as well as plenty of young residents who will be moving in, to enjoy everything Florham Park has to offer. We thank Mayor Taylor and his team for supporting our vision.”
147 Columbia features a variety of well-appointed one- and two-bedroom layouts distinguished by light-filled interiors and thoughtful, contemporary design. With expansive floor plans up to 1,537 square feet, almost every home has a private balcony, and select apartments include dens. Gourmet center-island kitchens, spacious walk-in closets, in-suite washers and dryers, individually controlled heating/cooling, and remote keyless entry are among 147 Columbia’s many upscale highlights.
The community provides reserved garage parking and a wide range of lifestyle amenities as well. Residents enjoy an on-site co-working center with private workspaces, while a fireside entertainment lounge is perfect for socialization and relaxation. A state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga room contribute to health and well-being. Outside, the pet-friendly community offers landscaped, park-like grounds punctuated with seating areas and a promenade.
As one of the region’s most active developers in its high-end niche, Garden Communities is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2024. The company’s robust multifamily project pipeline will introduce dozens of new communities in the tri-state area over the next several years. Garden Communities is recognized for its responsive, hands-on approach to property operations, and its focus on meeting the needs and desires of modern renters.
