Gustafson’s appointment is a continuation of the JLL Value and Risk Advisory’s property sector-focused strategy that launched in 2023. He will be primarily responsible for driving growth of each sector and managing client relationships, along with recruiting and mentoring team members, managing risk and collaborating with technology and operations to improve the Core Four platform.

JLL’s Value and Risk Advisory platform announced that it has hired Corey Gustafson, MAI, CRE, as an Executive Managing Director – Head of Core Four, overseeing the national property sectors of office, retail, industrial and multi-housing.

“Based on client feedback, our Value and Risk Advisory platform transitioned to a property-sector focus last year,” said Mike Ellis, CEO of JLL Value and Risk Advisory. “Our team has been operating under this model with great success, and now is the right time to bring on someone to holistically run the ‘Core Four’ assets that we are seeing the most demand around. Corey is an experienced leader, and we are excited to welcome him to the team, especially as the commercial real estate market continues to trend back towards pre-pandemic transaction volume levels.”

Based in Boston, Corey Gustafson has more than 22 years of valuation experience, spanning leadership, management, professional development, training, strategic decision-making and recruitment. He has a comprehensive understanding of all types of real estate valuation services, including appraisals, feasibility studies, real estate portfolios, financial reporting, estate planning, litigation support, property tax consulting and sale-leasebacks. With a career that began as a staff appraiser in Chicago, he has advanced quickly into leadership roles at four nationally recognized valuation platforms, most recently serving as Managing Director and New England Market Leader of CBRE Valuation and Advisory Services, overseeing the six-state New England region.

“I’m thrilled to be joining JLL’s Value and Risk Advisory team at this pivotal time in the commercial real estate market. The opportunity to work on a national scale and apply my expertise in the office, retail, multi-housing and industrial sectors is truly exciting,” commented Gustafson. “The sector-focused approach JLL has implemented aligns perfectly with evolving client needs, and I’m eager to lead our efforts across the Core Four property sectors.”
