Construction on the occupied renovation began in October of 2023 with full interior reconstruction including new flooring, kitchen cabinets, counter tops, appliances, bathrooms fixtures, added air conditioning, painting, interior common area upgrades, laundry rooms, exterior landscaping, paving improvements, and security system upgrades.

Affordable Housing and Services Collaborative, Inc. (AHSC), a nonprofit organization that owns and develops affordable rental communities, announces its near completion of Prospect Estates in Webster, Massachusetts, a 25-unit affordable housing community that is now fully leased.

Located at 10 and 41 Prospect Street, both properties known as Prospect Estates were the sites of two historic former school buildings which, prior to AHSC, were owned by the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development. AHSC acquired ownership in 2021, quickly working to secure funding from EOHLC, Mass Housing, and MHIC to reposition the property and address long-term financial and physical needs of both buildings.

The project received its Certificate of Occupancy in late August and is fully leased as of September 1st. Completion of historic window installation and electrical equipment will continue through December, with all finish work anticipated that month.

“We’re excited to see this project come to completion, adding essential affordable housing to the Webster community,” said Michael Mattos, president/executive director of Affordable Housing and Services Collaborative, Inc.
