Located at Ohio State University’s iconic 50-yard line, and steps from the Oval and High Street, this new off-campus student housing community will offer Columbus, Ohio students unmatched convenience and accessibility.

Up Campus Living, a leading development and property management company specializing in student housing and near-campus real estate, is proud to announce plans for its 27th development: Blume on 16th.

Blume on 16th will accommodate 325 residents and feature fully furnished apartments, group and private study rooms, fitness and wellness amenities—including a yoga studio and spa—outdoor courtyard areas, and 24/7 on-site management. With high-speed Wi-Fi, electronic locks, common area cameras, and modern package rooms, it’s designed to meet the needs of today’s busy students.

Blume on 16th redefines elevated student living in Columbus’ University District, seamlessly bridging the high-rise corridor of North High Street with the area’s historical residential scale. This 74-unit development provides two- to six-bedroom layouts, catering to The Ohio State University students seeking a balance of modern amenities and neighborhood integration.

The design incorporates traditional materials like brick, cast stone, and asphalt shingles to complement the architectural character of the area, while offering state-of-the-art features, including a fitness center, spa, sauna, study rooms, and landscaped outdoor amenity space. Townhomes along East 16th Avenue “step down” in scale, blending with nearby homes and preserving the neighborhood’s charm and integrity.

Paying homage to the site’s history as the former home of Summit United Methodist Church, the project team prepared a Historic American Building Survey to document the church’s distinctive architectural features. This approach honors the site’s legacy while welcoming its next chapter.

The project is led by MA Design with support from E.P. Ferris & Associates, The Edge Group, Jezerinac-Geers & Associates, and Jordan & Skala Engineers. Financial backing comes from Eastborough Partners and CIBC Bank USA.
