EAH Housing, one of the largest and most respected nonprofit housing development and management organizations in the Western United States, announced the appointment of Jose Torres as Director of Business Development for Southern California.
With 20+ years of experience in the real estate industry, Jose Torres’ proven track record will make an immediate impact as EAH Housing seeks to expand its reach, impact, and geographic influence within the affordable housing sector. Well-versed in property acquisitions, development management, and financing, he will lead the organization’s efforts to identify new opportunities and help shape development programs, from pre-development financing through land use approval.
“EAH Housing is committed to expanding its reach and impact within the affordable housing sector, and Jose’s expertise will be key to driving this growth,” said Laura Hall, CEO of EAH Housing. “He will play a critical role in identifying new opportunities and advancing development efforts, allowing us to better serve the communities most in need.”
Torres’ appointment reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its team to support a robust pipeline of projects including several upcoming groundbreakings in Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, several rehabilitation projects and grand openings across California and Hawai‘i are slated for later this year, with more new developments spanning into 2026.
Prior to joining EAH Housing, Torres held real estate development leadership positions for various nonprofit organizations across Los Angeles County and Orange County, including American Family Housing, U.S. VETS, SRO Housing, and A Community of Friends working to place low-income families, unhoused veterans, transition-age youth and other populations. In addition to his nonprofit work, he has independently pursued real estate development and operated his own general contracting firm. He holds a master’s degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Geography with an emphasis in Urban Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles.
“EAH Housing has a long history of making a positive impact in affordable housing, and I’m thrilled to join the team,” said Torres. “The team and I share a passion for and commitment to fostering meaningful change in communities. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to further the organization’s success and growth as well as working with community leaders to provide housing to those most in need.”
