Dominium, a leading affordable housing owner, developer and manager, announced its senior leadership succession plan as former Senior Managing Partner Paul Sween begins his transition into a strategic, fiduciary role at the company. Mark Moorhouse and Kyle Hansen will share leadership responsibilities as co-CEOs.
Paul Sween, who has served at Dominium for 36 years, will become Dominium’s Chairman of the Board. In this role, Sween will lead the Board of Directors, setting the Board’s agenda, presiding over its meetings and ensuring accountability. He remains a partner in the firm.
Mark Moorhouse and Kyle Hansen will serve dual leadership roles and share responsibilities. Hansen will become co-CEO while continuing his role as Chief Operating Officer, in which he oversees Property Management and Corporate Services. Moorhouse and Hansen remain partners in the firm.
“Paul’s leadership and vision have been invaluable to all of us at Dominium, and through his guidance, so many people across the country have an affordable place to call home, providing the certainty and dignity a home provides,” said Mark Moorhouse, co-CEO and Chief Development Officer at Dominium. “Kyle and I are grateful for Paul’s leadership, and we are confident and fully equipped to hit the ground running. We have a talented leadership team that is ready to step up and carry on the mission.”
In addition to the CEO position, Dominium is advancing the positions of three others to meet the needs of the company going forward. Paula Prahl will become Chief Operating Officer of Development. Her role will be focused on systems and process improvement as well as information flows and resources, all focused on increasing the development of affordable housing. She will continue to lead Government Relations, Communications, and Dominium Gives with the addition of the Development Operations, Development Coordinator and Administrative teams. Prahl remains a partner in the company.
Chris Lahna will assume the title of President of Property Management where he will continue to lead and improve all aspects of Dominium’s Property Management business as well as lead the Human Resources team. Lahna remains a partner in the firm.
As President of Development, Nick Andersen will assume responsibility for maximizing Dominium’s housing production and volume through the professional development and training of Dominium’s Project Partners, Associates and Analysts. Andersen remains a project partner in the firm.
“We have been very precise and deliberate during this process to maintain continuity because we have a lot of people counting on us,” said Kyle Hansen, co-CEO and Chief Operating Officer. “With a significant pipeline of projects in motion and a housing crisis to address, Dominium remains committed to our residents, communities, and our team who make affordable housing possible.”
