As Logos continues to expand, the firm is committed to bridging the gap between faith-based landowners and capital sources, leveraging underutilized assets to create housing solutions that foster stronger, more resilient communities.

Logos Faith Development, a mission-driven real estate development firm specializing in transforming underutilized land into vibrant communities, is expanding its senior leadership team with the appointment of Christopher Montes as a new Partner & Chief Investment Officer.

In this role, Christopher Montes will lead the firm’s overall investment strategy and capital-raising efforts, focusing on securing both debt and equity to fuel the expansion of Logos’ multifamily developments in partnership with faith-based institutions. He previously served as a Senior Director at Walker & Dunlop, one of the nation’s premier commercial real estate lenders.

Christopher Montes brings more than 14 years of experience in multifamily finance, with a strong background in both market-rate and affordable housing. His deep commercial real estate mortgage banking expertise, cutting-edge capital markets approaches and ability to innovatively structure debt and equity financing will be instrumental as Logos continues to scale its impact and bring much-needed housing solutions to underserved communities across California.

Logos partners with churches and other mission-driven organizations to repurpose underutilized land, creating dignified housing while strengthening local communities. With a track record of successfully executed projects, Logos is now aiming to expand its reach and impact with an ambitious goal of developing 2,000 additional affordable and workforce housing units by 2030.

Pastor Martin Porter, Founder & CEO of Logos Faith Development, expressed his excitement about the new partnership, saying, “We are proud to welcome an accomplished capital markets advisor like Chris to the Logos team as our new Chief Investment Officer and a Partner. Chris and I initially connected over shared faith and values. This is about business, to be sure, but it’s also about a vision and mission rooted in faith and friendship. With his deep expertise in commercial real estate finance and affordable housing, Chris is the right leader to help us expand our impact as we work to help solve California’s housing crisis. This is a big moment for Logos, and I couldn’t be more excited for the future with Chris on board.”

Mr. Montes echoed the sentiment, noting his personal connection to the firm’s mission, adding, “Making a positive social impact on underserved communities is very personal to me. Joining forces with Pastor Martin Porter, the entire Logos team, and all our church partners is very exciting. I look forward to guiding Logos’ capital-raising efforts as we work to achieve our 2030 goal of creating an additional 2,000 low-income, moderate-income, and workforce housing homes. Logos distinct approach to development provides a solid foundation for us to achieve market rate returns, while also creating a double bottom line business,” he said.

As a Partner & Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Montes will lead investment strategy, optimize financial resources, and cultivate relationships with key capital partners, including philanthropic organizations, government agencies, and private investors. He will also structure strategic partnerships to expand Logos’ impact and oversee risk management and investment performance to ensure projects meet both financial and community-focused goals.

Mr. Montes has received multiple industry accolades, including the Los Angeles Times Visionary in Finance Award and the GlobeSt Rainmaker Award. In addition to his professional work, he has held leadership roles within the real estate finance industry, serving as Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Future Leaders Alumni and currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Board for AdelFi Credit Union.
