EAH Housing, one of the largest and most respected nonprofit housing development and management organizations in the Western United States, announced the grand reopening of Rodeo Gateway, a senior housing community in Contra Costa County.

“With the reopening of Rodeo Gateway, we are reaffirming our commitment to providing seniors with safe, comfortable, and vibrant living environments,” said Laura Hall, CEO of EAH Housing. “The upgrades to this development reflect our broader vision of preserving and enhancing affordable housing, ensuring residents can age with dignity and security.”

Situated in Rodeo, California, Rodeo Gateway features 40 one-bedroom apartments and a two-bedroom manager’s unit, offering a thoughtfully designed living environment for seniors 62 and older. The community features a beautifully landscaped courtyard, tree-lined walkways, comfortable seating areas, and resident amenities, including a sunroom, computer lab, and fully equipped community kitchen.

Highlights of the rehabilitation include upgraded residences with new energy-efficient appliances, high-efficiency LED lighting, new flooring, and updated kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, sinks, and fixtures; enhanced ADA-compliant amenities, including roll-in showers and improved mobility features; and a newly designed community room featuring new furnishings, flooring, paint, and window coverings. Additional enhancements include improved air circulation in common hallways and new security features, such as an updated entry call system with key fob access and a new WiFi system.

“These renovations will have a lasting impact on the well-being of Rodeo’s senior residents,” said Contra Costa County Supervisor Shanelle Scales-Preston. “EAH Housing has been a key partner in ensuring that our older adults have access to high quality, affordable homes that promote independence and engagement within the neighborhood and surrounding areas.”

The revitalization of Rodeo Gateway reflects the ongoing efforts of EAH Housing to invest in existing communities, preserve affordability, and incorporate modern features that benefit residents in the long term.
