Campus Apartments, one of the nation’s largest providers of on- and off-campus student housing, is proud to announce the promotion of Helen Marshall to Chief People Officer.
In this new role, Marshall will continue to lead Campus’ human resources department, with an increased focus on enhancing employee engagement and well-being. Helen Marshall will remain a core member of the leadership team, playing a key role in shaping Campus’ culture while championing the health and well-being of its workforce across the nation. This promotion reflects Campus’ longstanding commitment to prioritizing its people and maintaining a strong, supportive culture.
“I find immense joy in meeting someone where they are, and witnessing them succeed, especially when they achieve something they initially thought was beyond their reach,” said Marshall. “I’m looking forward to having deeper collaborations with the team here at Campus Apartments, and continuing to create an environment where people feel truly empowered, supported and confident in reaching their potential.”
Appointed Vice President of Human Resources in 2007, Marshall has successfully led all facets of the company’s HR strategy, including recruitment, organizational development, compensation, training, and employee relations. She has been a catalyst for many of Campus’ most impactful initiatives, including the company’s “A Bigger Campus” initiative, which promotes employee connectivity and community engagement. As part of this initiative, Marshall helped establish Campus’ annual Day of Service, held on October 10 to coincide with World Mental Health Day to rally teams nationwide for community events such as clean-ups and volunteer activities, reinforcing the connection between community well-being and mental health.
Marshall’s leadership has also been instrumental in the success of the All In 5K in partnership with Team IMPACT, which includes an annual event that has raised over $250,000 to date and supported Campus’ recognition with the Mental Health Bell Seal Certification from 2022 to 2024.
“Helen’s leadership is defined by her empathy, authenticity, and unwavering commitment to our people,” said Daniel I. Bernstein, President and Chief Investment Officer. “Her vision, coupled with her ability to foster meaningful connections with our employees, has set a new standard not just for our company, but for the industry at large. We are confident that her continued guidance will be essential to our ongoing success.”
With more than 30 years of human resources experience across regional, national, and international markets, Marshall brings deep expertise and perspective to her new role. Before joining Campus, she served as a managing partner at an international HR consulting firm and held senior roles across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
