EAH Housing, one of the largest and most respected nonprofit housing development and management organizations in the Western United States, announced it has started construction for Lexington Gardens, a 48-unit affordable housing development in West Hollywood, California.

“At EAH Housing, our mission is to create high-quality, affordable housing that strengthens communities and provides stability for those who need it most,” said Laura Hall, CEO of EAH Housing. “Our second development in West Hollywood, Lexington Gardens reflects our commitment to the communities we serve. We’re grateful for the City of West Hollywood and our financing partners’ support and remain dedicated to developing housing solutions that foster opportunity in Los Angeles County and beyond.”

Located at the corner of Detroit Street and Lexington Avenue, Lexington Gardens will serve families and individuals earning 30-60% of the local Area Median Income (AMI). The five-story community will feature 47 studio apartments ranging in size from 384 to 447 square feet and one two-bedroom, 869-square-foot manager’s unit, all with energy-efficient appliances, window coverings, and walk-in closets.

“Access to safe, stable, and affordable housing is one of the most pressing challenges facing our community,” said Mayor Chelsea Lee Byers of the City of West Hollywood. “With construction underway for Lexington Gardens, we’re taking a critical step in the right direction, providing people not just with a place to live, but with an opportunity to rebuild and thrive. Projects such as this strengthen the fabric of our city, ensuring that our residents have the foundation they need to pursue a bright future.”

Designed by renowned architects at DE Architects and built by Walton Construction, Lexington Gardens will offer a range of indoor and outdoor amenities that promote social interaction and wellness. The community will feature on-site vehicle and bicycle parking, a community room, shared open spaces, laundry, and a dedicated management office. EAH Housing will also provide resident services through an on-site Resident Services Coordinator and collaborate with local organizations to offer specialized programs aimed at enhancing residents’ well-being.
