The Mira
Together, The Mira and The Stillwaters reflect Dominium’s ongoing commitment to addressing the critical need for affordable housing in Florida and across the nation.

Dominium, a leading affordable housing owner, developer and manager announced that it has acquired land in Apopka, Florida for the development of The Mira. This new community will provide 300 income- and rent- restricted apartment homes for families in the Orlando metropolitan area.

The Mira is a sister project to the Stillwaters, a 180-unit lakefront senior community acquired by Dominium in December 2024, which is currently under construction. Upon completion, The Mira will offer 96 one-bedroom, 132 two-bedroom and 72 four-bedroom apartment homes. The community will also feature a range of amenities, including a clubhouse, fitness center, resort-style pool, outdoor recreational areas, locked bike storage and electric vehicle charging stations.

Construction of The Mira will be supported by the Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program (LIHTC). Nationwide, LIHTC is the largest source of support for the construction and maintenance of affordable housing communities. In exchange for tax credits, affordable housing developers and operators agree to maintain rents at levels tied to the Area Median Income (AMI). Development of LIHTC properties has a positive effect on the local housing market by increasing the supply of affordable housing. All homes at The Mira will be restricted to households earning between 50% and 80% of the AMI.
