Kisco Senior Living proudly announces the opening of The Fitzgerald of Palisades, a Kisco Signature community located in the heart of the picturesque and historic Palisades neighborhood.
With five distinct dining venues and a design tailored for discerning seniors who value both tranquility and vibrant engagement in the cultural, political, and social fabric of Washington, D.C., The Fitzgerald draws its name from F. Scott Fitzgerald, author of the iconic 1920s-era novel The Great Gatsby. The novel’s Art Deco aesthetic and spirit of timeless sophistication are reflected throughout the community’s design.
“The Fitzgerald represents the future of senior living – intimate, refined, and deeply attuned to the needs of today’s discerning seniors,” said Andy Kohlberg, CEO, Kisco Senior Living. “We’re proud to offer a community where peaceful living blends seamlessly with access to world-class dining, shopping, and the arts—all thoughtfully designed with intention.”
Located just minutes from Georgetown and tucked along the Potomac River, The Fitzgerald blends the charm of a small-town community with the sophistication of city living, offering residents a blend of comfortable elegance, quality care, and the five-star hospitality
for which Kisco Signature is renowned. Adding to the neighborhood charm, every Sunday the sidewalk outside The Fitzgerald comes alive with a local Farmers Market, offering fresh produce, artisanal goods, and a welcoming space for residents and neighbors to connect.
With Art Deco-inspired interiors from local landmarks including the Glen Echo Amusement Park, MacArthur Theater, and the historic Kennedy-Warren residential building, and highly personalized service, The Fitzgerald sets a new standard for boutique senior living.
Every detail is purposefully designed to make life effortless and luxurious, from valet parking and dedicated concierge services, including a Technology Concierge, to a heated saltwater pool, private theatre, on-site salon, and more. As part of The Fitzgerald’s
commitment to its vision of culture, intellectual growth, and life enrichment, residents also enjoy the Red Carpet Speaker Series, which brings renowned authors, thought leaders and cultural influencers to the community, and have access to the Signature Travel Program, which offers residents the opportunity to stay at other Kisco Signature communities in destinations such as Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Maryland.
“At the heart of The Fitzgerald is Kisco’s culture of genuine hospitality, delivered by passionate associates who take pride in knowing each resident by name—and how they take their morning coffee,” said Alphonso Westley, general manager, The Fitzgerald. “We
created The Fitzgerald for seniors who value wellness, refinement and meaningful connections. It’s truly a sanctuary where luxury and lifestyle come together just minutes from the heart of D.C.”
The Fitzgerald of Palisades has already seen strong demand, with residences filling quickly across the community. A limited selection of uniquely designed floor plans remains available in both Independent and Assisted Living, each offering its own distinctive character.
The community is preparing to launch its Memory Care program, supported by a team of associates who have completed Virtual Dementia Training. In a further testament to the community’s commitment to excellence, the Assisted Living Director recently earned her
Nurse Practitioner certification.
The Fitzgerald of Palisades is developed by Trammell Crow Company in collaboration with Kisco Senior Living. Its striking Art Deco-inspired architecture was designed by Perkins Eastman, while the interiors were brought to life by Pembrooke & Ives, whose approach to senior living design ensures every space is both elegant and functional.
