This significant acquisition reflects Lakeside's confidence in Downtown Oakland and its long-term commitment to its growth and success.

Lakeside Group, an Oakland-based real estate investment and development firm, announced the acquisition of 100 Grand, a 243-unit Class A multifamily tower in Oakland, California.

100 Grand will benefit from Lakeside Group’s integrated approach to real estate and experience in combining private investment with community and city collaboration to support positive outcomes. Planned enhancements to the building will be coordinated with Northlake—a privately funded effort in partnership with the City of Oakland and the Uptown Downtown Business Improvement District—to enhance public safety, boost local businesses, and re-activate the area as an engaging, 24/7 neighborhood with events and programming.

“This acquisition reflects our commitment to Downtown Oakland and to helping restore energy, optimism, and momentum to a part of the city that matters deeply to us,” said Isaac Abid, Founder and CEO of Lakeside Group. “Our work in Northlake is rooted in a belief that Oakland’s urban core can thrive again with the right mix of stewardship, investment, and community partnership.”

The Northlake District spans 20 city blocks and includes a dense concentration of Oakland’s key assets, which includes more than 45% of its Class-A office space, over 2,600 apartment units, and one of its most vibrant retail corridors. The intersection of active public spaces, homegrown restaurants and retailers, and visible activation efforts, Northlake is emerging as a model for how private investment can work with local government and community to drive positive outcomes through collaboration and place-based investment.

The transaction was facilitated by JLL Capital Market‘s Sales and Advisory team, led by Matt Kroger, Brandon Geraldo, Ryan Wagner, Fatai Alashe, and financed by JLL’s Debt Team, consisting of Jordan Angel and Matt Cimino.
