The community will feature 41 single-family homes and townhomes. This community is a focused effort to meet a specific housing need identified by the Boynton Beach CRA.

PulteGroup, one of the nation’s largest home builders, in partnership with the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), officially broke ground on July 17 on The Cottage District, a standalone workforce housing initiative located within the City of Boynton Beach’s “Heart of Boynton District” close to downtown.

“The Cottage District delivers much-needed, high-quality housing that is attainable for the local workforce — including first responders, teachers, health care professionals, government workers and others who serve our community,” said Brent Baker, PulteGroup’s Southeast Florida Division President. “This will be our fourth workforce housing community in Palm Beach County in recent years, and the unique neighborhood further strengthens our relationship with local municipalities to address specific community needs.”

The property fronts Seacrest Boulevard between Northeast Fourth and Fifth Avenues, with Northeast First Street at its rear border. PulteGroup acquired the 4.5-acre site from the CRA in December 2024 and received approval to start preparing the land for development in February.

“Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. The Cottage District project represents not just bricks and mortar, but our commitment to opportunity and a brighter future for all residents,” said Rebecca Shelton, Mayor of Boynton Beach and Boynton Beach CRA Board Chair. “We look forward to celebrating 41 families who will soon call this home.”

With five-foot-wide sidewalks and abundant lighting, The Cottage District is designed to be walkable and inviting, with a small neighborhood park and connectivity to adjacent areas.

The 19 single-family homes for moderate-income households are priced at $301,860, and the 22 townhomes for low-income households at $234,780, and are subject to change. Prospective buyers must first qualify with the Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Stability by meeting certain household income requirements. They must also contribute a minimum percentage of the sales price towards a deposit. Sales are expected to start in October.

Due to the high demand for affordable housing, only recipients of a workforce housing certificate from Palm Beach County will be entered into a lottery for a chance to own a home at The Cottage District.
