A joint venture hoping to complete three Atlanta-area projects is close to moving forward on its first. Centrum Realty & Development and Sorelle Capital. The team will soon start work on an $85 million apartment project at 1801 E. Seventh Street.
The six-story development will have 161 market-rate apartments, averaging a roomy 1,100 square feet, much larger than the national average. Two ground-floor retail spaces will total between 4,000 and 5,600 square feet. The venture will also include a top-floor library and lounge, an outdoor terrace, pool deck, private courtyard and fitness center.
BB+M Architecture is the project’s architect. Copper Collaborative is the general contractor.
Charles Thrift, partner at Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services, is handling retail leasing there.
Centrum acquired the five parcels in July 2023 for $8.5 million. Completion is slated for 2027.
The development also includes upscale amenities such as a top-level library and lounge, outdoor terrace, pool deck, private courtyard, and fitness center, catering to modern urban lifestyles.
Leadership from both firms emphasized that this groundbreaking marks a major milestone in their growing Charlotte portfolio. As Sorelle’s Nico Marin noted, “Keeping the train moving—excited to get this one out of the ground,” while Centrum’s Larry Powers thanked community partners and pledged dedication through to completion. The project is poised to reinvigorate Elizabeth’s main corridor with quality residential options and vibrant retail amenity space.
