This week, The Beach Company announced vertical construction is officially underway at the site of Sixth South, a planned mixed-use community on the south side of downtown Nashville’s SoBro neighborhood. The announcement comes on the heels of the closing of the construction loan, provided by Fifth Third Bank.
Located less than two blocks from the Music City Center convention complex at the intersection of Sixth Avenue South and Lea Avenue, the new vibrant community will feature 299 multifamily units and 5,400 square feet of complementary retail space. JC Darby and Jon Petty with Southeast Venture are the listing agents for the retail space.
The property is situated within walking distance to nearly 70,000 downtown jobs and to popular entertainment venues and destinations such as the Ryman Auditorium and Ascend Amphitheater, Broadway and The Gulch’s dining and nightlife attractions.
“Sixth South offers residents the opportunity to live in the heart of downtown Nashville’s cultural and employment centers,” said Ned Miller, development manager with The Beach Company. “The region has gained nearly 15,000 jobs in the past three years, and Sixth South will help to provide this influx of professionals with new, walkable living options in a desirable urban setting.”
Upon completion, Sixth South’s multifamily component will feature an expansive pool deck with a saltwater pool and outdoor kitchens, a pet spa, club room and fitness center in addition to units that feature unmatched views of downtown Nashville and The Gulch.
Sixth South is expected to be completed summer 2021.
The following companies were selected by The Beach Company to provide high-quality construction and design services for Sixth South: architect Southeast Venture; general contractor Skanska; landscape architect Hawkins Partners Inc.; civil engineer Thomas & Hutton.
