Built to LEED silver equivalent, the 205-unit Village at Torrey Pines, which was completed last year in San Diego to house transfer students to the University of California campus there, makes use of bioswales to filter storm water runoff before it returns to the watershed and reduces the community’s carbon footprint with cool roofs and solar screens.
