Pinecrest has officially broken ground on The Penny on College Main, a 605-bed student housing community located at 415 College Main in College Station, Texas.
Strategically located within walking distance of Texas A&M and the Northgate Entertainment District, The Penny boasts the perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and modern living for Texas A&M students.
The development will feature a mix of studios, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, 4-bedroom, and 5-bedroom units, offering a variety of living options, including townhouses, with full kitchens, in-unit washer/dryers, and private bathrooms for every bedroom to ensure comfort and convenience. With larger-than-average unit sizes compared to competitors, The Penny provides students with ample opportunities to thrive during their college experience.
Designed to enhance residential educational ambitions, the community will include multiple study spaces on residential floors for both individual and group study needs, a resort-style pool, a pickleball court, a state-of-the-art fitness center for recreation and wellness and a pet washroom and relief area. Additional conveniences will include on-site parking, package lockers, an automated market, and 24-hour maintenance with on-site professional management to ensure a seamless living experience.
“At the forefront of every design decision we’ve made for The Penny, we asked ourselves how can the community help our residents stay in school?” said Tyler Perlmutter, CEO of Pinecrest. “We believe The Penny will be more than a place people live, rather it will be a place where students flourish academically and socially with endless opportunities at their doorstep in College Station.”
Beyond its premium amenities, The Penny will prioritize sustainability, with efforts to source materials locally, implement a recycling program, and include EV car chargers and water bottle filling stations on residential floors.
The project is led by Rhode Partners (architecture), Rycon Construction Inc. (general contractor), Mitchell & Morgan (civil engineering), and Rhode Interior Design. Financial backing is provided by CIBC USA and First Bank of Chicago.
