
The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry, commends the U.S. Senate for confirming Bill Pulte as the new director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

Buddy Hughes, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and a home builder and developer from Lexington, N.C., issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed Bill Pulte as the new director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA):

We stand ready to work with Director Pulte to help address the nation’s housing affordability crisis by promoting policies that ensure stable and liquid mortgage markets for single-family and multifamily housing. Providing builders and home buyers better access to financing will enable home builders to boost the supply of attainable, affordable housing to meet market demand and keep the economy strong.”
The National Association of Home Builders is a Washington-based trade association representing more than 140,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction. NAHB is affiliated with 700 state and local home builder associations around the country. NAHB’s builder members will construct about 80 percent of the new housing units projected for this year.
