Woodfield Development, one of the nation’s top 20 developers of Class A multifamily communities, has announced the completion and opening of EmmaJames at Savannah Harbor, a mixed-use community that combines Savannah’s historic charm with classic Southern elegance and the serene sophistication of island living.
As the developer continues expanding its footprint across the Southeast, EmmaJames represents Charleston-based Woodfield Development’s fifth project in the state of Georgia. With the addition of EmmaJames, the multifamily developer has delivered 1,494 units, totaling $390 million in the state of Georgia over the past five years. The opening comes on the heels of Woodfield’s recently completed Holden at Oak Grove, a multi-building residential development with 296 units located in Athens, and Union Green, a 295-unit community located in Union City, just south of downtown Atlanta.
Having announced leasing in August 2023, the response to EmmaJames has been compelling, with over 74 percent of the community leased.
“The completion of EmmaJames is a significant milestone for us,” said Patrick Kassin, partner at Woodfield Development. “We’re thrilled to highlight how EmmaJames fully embraces Hutchinson Island’s prime riverfront location, seamlessly blending Savannah’s natural beauty with its historic charm. Often regarded as one of Savannah’s hidden gems, EmmaJames offers unparalleled views of the historic downtown skyline, with the Savannah River serving as a stunning backdrop that elevates the property’s unique character and appeal.”
Located at 101 Cay Plaza, adjacent to the recently expanded Savannah Convention Center and the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, EmmaJames features 280 residences that offer a sophisticated living experience with stunning views of the river and city. The community offers a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 682 square feet to 1,732 square feet, along with exclusive one- and two-bedroom townhomes ranging up to 2,064 square feet.
Conceptualized by designer Cindy Munn of S. Wilkins Interior Design, the spaces feature quartz countertops, shaker-style cabinets, oil-rubbed bronze hardware, bookshelf niches, gas stoves, and a dry bar area with base cabinets and open shelving, complemented by a tile backsplash.
EmmaJames offers a variety of modern amenities, including a fitness center, yoga studio, self-serve tap lounge, co-working area, pet spa with dog run, outdoor lawn with a grilling area, and an expansive pool deck with a saltwater pool overlooking the Savannah Harbor Marina. Residents will also have access to unique creative spaces, including a social media production room, piano room, and a maker space featuring weekly art classes hosted by the community’s artist-in-residence. The property’s on-site art gallery, in partnership with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), will showcase rotating exhibits featuring works by local SCAD artists, creating an exclusive, ever-evolving connection to Savannah’s rich art community.
EmmaJames enjoys an unparalleled location at the heart of Savannah Harbor, a burgeoning 35-acre mixed-use development that combines residential options with world-class dining, retail, green spaces, and a 150-slip world-class marina. Additionally, the Club at Savannah Harbor offers an 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Cupp and Sam Snead, and managed by Troon Golf, that is coupled with a luxury spa and fitness center. Slated to open in Spring 2025, the IGY Savannah Harbor Marina will further enhance the area’s appeal as a premier waterfront destination with 100 berths for vessels of all sizes, including over 1,000 linear feet to accommodate deep-draft superyachts.
The project team for EmmaJames included Housing Studio as the architect of record, Samet as the general contractor, and Cindy Munn of S. Wilkins handled the property’s interior design.
