Bonner Carrington and Dominium, two leading multifamily housing developers, owners, and managers, announced the sale of 12 multifamily, mixed-income and affordable properties in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston metro areas.
Both companies share a decades-long track record and deep organizational commitment to the dignity and opportunity that quality housing provides. Dominium has more than 50 years of affordable and market-rate housing experience, with a portfolio of more than 40,000 apartment homes in over 215 properties across nearly half of U.S. states. Similarly, Bonner Carrington has more than 35 years of multifamily housing experience, with 28 properties serving over 12,000 residents across Texas. The two companies have a decades-long relationship based on mutual respect and shared values, all of which contribute to their growing partnership.
“By partnering with Dominium for this transition, our lasting commitment to providing a positive influence within our communities grows even stronger,” said Stuart Shaw, CEO and Founder of Bonner Carrington. “We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with Dominium and celebrating this new chapter together.”
“Dominium has had a long-standing relationship with, and great admiration for, Bonner Carrington,” said Mark Moorhouse, Managing Partner and Executive Vice President of Development for Dominium. “This deal represents a win for both organizations, for the residents living in these properties and for the communities where these properties are located.”
Bonner Carrington will continue developing, building and managing mixed-income communities for Texas residents. In 2025, Bonner Carrington will open seven newly developed and constructed properties, including their active lease-up at The Kelsey at Scofield Farms in North Austin and Cypress Creek at Stoney Ridge in Del Valle, as well as others in the Temple and Dallas regions.
“Our priority has always been our people and our communities. Jeff Spicer’s dedication and care for people made the process of this transaction both possible and successful,” Shaw added, speaking about Dominium’s Senior Vice President and Project Partner. “Our teams worked together tirelessly to ensure a smooth and seamless transition, and a very successful outcome measured in terms of serving our residents and the municipalities in which we develop our mixed-income communities.”
Dominium, which now owns and operates more than 50 properties and 9,000 apartment homes in Texas, also plans to continue developing more housing to help address the shortage of quality affordable housing throughout the state. The company’s current Texas pipeline includes several planned new-construction developments throughout Texas over the course of the next three years.
“Stuart and I have known each other for decades and have built a great deal of trust with one another during that time,” said Jeff Spicer. “Our mutual respect and shared values made this deal a home run for both organizations.”
