TrueLane Homes, a leading company focused on affordable single-family rental homes, announced today that Taylor Carvajal, a senior real estate executive with extensive single-family rental and finance experience, has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer.

Since 2012, TrueLane Homes has been investing in select markets and professionally rehabilitating homes to increase the availability of affordable rental housing for working-class families. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Carvajal will have management responsibility over the company and the day-to-day operations of the business. In addition, he will work alongside Eric Kim, Chief Development Officer, to direct and assist finance and capital markets activity across TrueLane Homes’ affiliates and sponsored entities. Mr. Kim was recently promoted to the position and leads the company’s capital development, strategy and marketing efforts in driving overall business growth. “Taylor will be instrumental in our ongoing portfolio expansion efforts, and I am eager to partner with him and work closely in achieving our goals,” said Mr. Kim.
Prior to joining TrueLane Homes, Mr. Carvajal served as Chief Financial Officer of Single Family Residential at Amherst Holdings. He has also held senior finance positions at The Blackstone Group, Ares Management, Goldman Sachs and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a Director in the firm’s Global Capital Markets Group.
Concurrent with his professional career, Mr. Carvajal served for ten years as an officer in the United States Navy and is the recipient of the Bronze Star for outstanding duty performance during combat operations in Iraq. In 2010, he was selected as the Navy Reserve Junior Military Intelligence Officer of the Year, and is the recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation and Iraq Campaign Medals. Mr. Carvajal received a B.S. cum laude from the University of Southern California and an M.S. from the University of Virginia.
