Howard Behr is back from Hyderabad, India, and he’s still talking about his 85-cent taxi ride. Behr, originally with NWP, Costa Mesa, Calif., and then of RealPage, Richardson, Texas, through its purchase of NWP, has struck out on his own. His high-tech, gig-economy-related start-up, Lapa Lopa, will officially launch in April in the Washington, D.C market. While the “what’s the offering” remains under wraps, I can reveal that the business will capitalize on the brainy, national field logistics and infrastructure that Behr developed while at NWP/RealPage for its submeter installation/service business.
Behr’s claim to fame was building NWP’s submetering business, specifically the logistics and mobile technology necessary to deliver and service apartment residents across the nation.
