Pre-leasing begins at Viridian on Sheridan, Chicago’s first North Side rental to offer Alexa Hub Smart Home package

Models debut showcasing the first integrated smart home technology package in Lakeview

Potential residents can experience the smart home technology available at Viridian on Sheridan when touring decorated models.

Vermilion Development has announced that pre-leasing is now underway at Viridian on Sheridan, a new luxury rental development at 734 W. Sheridan Road in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The 100-unit development is the first on Chicago’s North Side to offer an Alexa-based smart home package in each unit. Luxury Living Chicago Realty is the exclusive marketing and leasing brokerage for the 10-story building, while RMK Management will manage the property.

One of the most innovative features for Viridian on Sheridan is a partnership with Whiz Cribs, a technology integrator, who installs the smart home features connected to an in-home Amazon Echo. Each tenant will receive a consultation with a Whiz Crib technician who will set up the smart home components and connect Smartapps to enhance their lifestyle, including turning on and off lights, making dinner reservations, playing their favorite music and requesting Uber rides. Tenants will receive instructions and can opt for upgrades and add-ons including the Echo Show digital assistant with a touchscreen; an Echo Dot; smart outlets; dimmable white and color bulbs; an Amazon 4K Fire TV; and Amazon Fire Stick.

Viridian on Sheridan offers a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 542 to 1,310 square feet with rents between $1,795 and $3,995. All apartments feature 9-foot ceilings, while 10th-floor units have over 10-foot ceilings; wood plank flooring throughout; modern kitchens with Italian-inspired two-tone, soft-close cabinetry; quartz countertops; under-cabinet lighting; a stainless steel Whirlpool appliance package; and Delta Trinsic kitchen and bath fixtures. Solar shades, floor-to-ceiling windows, resident-controlled year-round heating, and in-unit full-size laundry completes the upscale design. Large walk-in closets, Jack-and-Jill bathrooms and private outdoor spaces are offered in select units.

Two decorated models are available for touring, including a two-bedroom, two-bathroom residence and a one-bedroom floor plan. Both models demonstrate the smart home features offered at Viridian on Sheridan. All units also include the Latch keyless entry system that allows tenants to unlock a door with an iOS or Android smartphone, keycard or special door code.

Building amenities include “Gather”, a resident lounge featuring a demonstration kitchen, oversized TV and WIFI enabled SONOS sound system, and access to the outdoor terrace with dining area, gas grill and outdoor gas heater; “Tone”, the technology-forward fitness center offering state-of-the-art digitally-enabled Precor fitness equipment, weight machines and stretching areas; “Connect”, a space perfect for co-working or small group meetings; and “Retreat”, the rooftop terrace with stunning city and lake views. Additional amenities include a bike room, dog wash and on-site dog run.

A LEED designed building, Viridian on Sheridan will also feature two rooftop gardens that will offer produce and herbs responsibly grown with minimal environmental impact using a comprehensive green-roof system developed by Omni Ecosystems and serviced by The Roof Crop™. Residents will be able to purchase produce through the program.
