Timberland Partners announces the grand opening of the $53.8 million Green on 4th apartment community, aka ‘G4’, an amenity-rich project located in the Prospect Park neighborhood in Minneapolis.
G4 welcomed its first residents on June 29th after over a year of planning and 17 months of construction. A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held August 1st from 4pm-7pm, including remarks by honored guest, Mayor Jacob Frey. The event is open to the public and will feature building tours, live music and small bites by Chowgirls Killer Catering.
“G4 opened over 50 percent preleased which is a testament not only to the uniqueness of the of the project, but also of the surrounding neighborhood with its walkability, proximity to transit and job centers, U of M, and many area conveniences including Surly and Fresh Thyme. The transformation happening within the Towerside Innovation District is exciting and we’re thrilled to be a part of it,” said Ryan Sailer, Vice President of Development with Timberland Partners.
Green on 4th features 243 mixed-income studio, one, and two-bedroom homes with various floor plans, located just steps away from the METRO Green Line Light Rail along the U of M Transitway.
The community features a rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of downtown, courtyard with grilling areas, resident lounge, game room, yoga studio with on-demand classes, and fitness center with the latest cardio, strength, and CrossFit equipment. The property also offers a dog run, pet grooming station, ample bike storage and repair area, automated package center and heated underground parking.
Apartment interiors feature stainless steel and energy-efficient appliances, quartz countertops, wood plank flooring, walk-in closets, full-size washers and dryers, and private entrances, patios or balconies on select units.
Situated at 2949 4th Street Southeast, G4 is part of the “Green Fourth” reconstruction project aimed to reduce pollution in the watershed while adding new public green space and habitat. The Towerside Innovation District is working to transform this area into a model of environmentally sustainable urban planning.
‘Innovation Districts’ are population-dense with transit accessibility and an emphasis on walkability, typically offering a variety of mixed-use housing and amenities. Some of these projects are still in progress, such as the urban food hall, Malcolm Yards Market, scheduled to open directly behind G4 next spring. Additionally, Fresh Thyme Market is located across the street, with Surly Brewing Co. just blocks away.
The project is a joint venture between Minneapolis-based developers Timberland Partners and Prospect Park Properties. The project was designed by Minneapolis based Tushie Montgomery Architects and constructed by Frana Companies.
