Clarendale of Addison, a new senior living community located off Route 53 and I-355 in Addison officially opened its doors last. The Clarendale team along with local community leaders participated in a ribbon-cutting celebration with a crowd of Addison-area seniors and their families in attendance.

“We were delighted to have Village of Addison Mayor Rich Veenstra and Addison Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Director, Dee La Rocca, help us commemorate the opening of our beautiful community,” says Katie Harvey, Clarendale of Addison executive director.

To round out the list of dignitaries who represent development and management of the community, Ryan Companies VP of Real Estate Development, David Erickson, and Life Care Services Director of Operations Management, Michael Heselbarth, also spoke at the commemorative ceremony.

“This new Class A senior community is perfectly situated among amenities that guests and staff will enjoy,” said David Erickson, Vice President of Real Estate Development at Ryan Companies. “ The adjacent park to Clarendale of Addison has excellent walking paths, an activity and fitness center among other Village of Addison conveniences, truly a place where residents and families will be proud to call home.”

Along with the official ribbon-cutting, festivities included a champagne toast, chef-inspired appetizers and live music from the Tim Wilsey Jazz Band. Attendees had the opportunity to tour model private apartments and community common areas in the independent living, assisted living and memory care neighborhoods of Clarendale of Addison.

According to Harvey, “Visitors had the opportunity to see that Clarendale offers a unique combination of residential amenities, exceptional hospitality services and social opportunities seldom found in other senior living communities.”

Now that Clarendale of Addison is officially open, interested seniors and families may schedule a visit to see the variety of floor plan options available, from private one- and two-bedroom apartments in both independent living and assisted living to studio suites available in memory care. Residents also have access to community spaces for socializing and entertaining, including a restaurant-style dining room and casual bistro, a pub, club room, library, salon and fitness center.

Harvey explains, “Visitors will see that Clarendale of Addison is unique. The emphasis is on what we call village-style retirement living. Services and programs provide the opportunity for residents to stay a part of, and involved in, mainstream living, as well as fostering relationships with family and others outside the community. Residents are right in the heart of it all—near shopping, restaurants, a movie theater, parks, golf courses and area churches. And for peace of mind, three top hospitals are less than five miles away.”

Specifically, the community is located 20 miles from downtown Chicago and convenient to O’Hare airport on a 4.1-acre site along Lake Street in the Village of Addison. The location provides easy access to shopping and restaurants, and it is adjacent to the 21-screen Marcus Addison Cinema, with an ever-changing lineup of current and classic movies. Plus, when residents want to get outdoors and enjoy nature, Centennial Park is practically in the community’s backyard.
