The National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and France Media, publisher of Student Housing Business and parent company of the InterFace Conference Group, are pleased to announce that in light of the unparalleled disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic they will be combining their individual student housing events to hold a joint student housing conference in Miami Beach on October 6-8.

The two organizations agree that the best way to support the nation’s student housing industry would be to co-host a single event that will bring together the sector’s best and brightest minds to deliver the knowledge, tools, programs and connections necessary for leaders to shape their future success and the future of our industry – especially now.  Combining these events will cut down on travel and related expenses for all industry stakeholders.

The ongoing dislocations for higher education and student housing make it more important than ever for the industry to collectively exchange new strategies, innovations and processes. The NMHC–InterFace Student Housing Conference this fall will be invaluable for industry experts and stakeholders to determine what approaches are most effective and exchange much-needed lessons and approaches.

“At a time of such uncertainty, our priority has always been on what is in the best service of our members and the broader student housing sector,” said Doug Bibby, NMHC President. “By partnering with InterFace to jointly host the year’s most important student housing conference, we will bring forward unmatched expertise, experience and problem-solving innovation on behalf of the industry.”

“When we looked to reschedule our postponed InterFace Student Housing Conference from April, we realized our new dates would have been a month before NMHC’s conference,” said Richard Kelley, publisher of Student Housing Business. “Rather than stretch the industry in two directions in a short period of time, we decided to come together and create an event that will offer attendees everything they have come to know and expect from each conference, plus even more. We are confident the industry will rally around our combined event and that one + one will equal three.”

NMHC and InterFace look forward to holding the student housing industry’s top conference this fall and providing members and attendees with information and best practices that will be critical to navigating the challenges posed by Covid-19.

The joint conference will have an exhibit hall in addition to 20 panel sessions and over eight hours of networking time. The SHB Innovator Awards will also be presented on October 7.
