What makes the great state of Texas great?

Let’s start with its people. Take the MacDonalds of Kerrville, Texas. Justin MacDonald, third-generation builder and developer owns and manages a portfolio of over 5,700 units across 48 communities in 25 Texas cities. You could say it’s in his DNA. A third-generation builder, MacDonald Companies has created quality, affordable housing since the 1940s. Justin is also NAHB’s BUILD-PAC chairman. BUILD-PAC contributed $3 million to various 2018 races across the country and advocates for the building industry on Capital Hill.

Justin’s father, Granger, served as Chairman of NAHB, and will remain one of the nation’s great housing advocates and icon of the industry. Granger passed away in June of this year and will be remembered for his larger than life charisma and advocacy for affordable housing.

In this episode of NAHB Power Hitters Host Linda Hoffman speaks with Justin MacDonald about running an apartment business in Texas, through all the year’s crazy events, how his operations are faring through the pandemic and what this year’s election holds in store.
