Oakwood Worldwide announced the planned opening of Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Shin-Osaka. Scheduled to open this summer, the property will be the first property in Japan outside of Tokyo, and it joins a growing portfolio of 55 Oakwood branded properties around the globe.
Situated within walking distance to Shin-Osaka Station – the gateway to Japan’s Kansai region, Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Shin-Osaka is ideal for both business and leisure travelers seeking short to long stays. Shin-Osaka Station is a major bullet train station, and its close proximity to the property enables guests to easily access other parts of Japan. Coined the “Kitchen of Japan” in the 17th century when the capital shifted from Kyoto to Tokyo, Osaka was key to the country’s economy and distribution of resources. Since then, Osaka has been the center for travelers traveling north and south.
Designed for convenient living, Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Shin-Osaka offers 185 rooms and serviced apartments comprising of 59 hotel rooms and 126 serviced apartments. The hotel rooms are furnished with a bed and a work desk whilst the apartments come fully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen. The property also offers a guest concierge and front desk services, regular housekeeping, as well as high speed internet and fitness gym.
Spearheading Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Shin-Osaka, Yasuko Sugiyama has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality industry with her career taking her to Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia as well as various regions of Japan. Sugiyama’s vast experience spans both serviced apartments as well as hotels and has seen her working for Ascott, Fraser, Hotel Parklane as well as Ramada Hotel over the years. Prior to joining Oakwood, Sugiyama was Area Manager for Booking.com, where she managed the offices in Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.
