INFOGRAPHIC: An inside job: the invisible tax on renters

100

Called the “invisible tax” because it allows government agencies to print money, soaring inflation has crippled renter household budgets for years. The rate of increase is beginning to slow but residents have yet to find financial relief. After accounting for inflation, hourly wages have barely budged since 2020. Well over half of working Americans say their income has lagged inflation over the past 12 months as the level of misery rises with inflation.
