CA Student Living, the student housing investment and development division of Chicago-based CA Ventures, today announced construction is underway at RISE on Chauncey, a 16-story, 675-bed development at 100 S. Chauncey Ave. in West Lafayette, Ind. Located in the heart of Purdue University’s campus life, with frontage on State Street, where a massive redevelopment effort will be completed later this year, RISE on Chauncey is scheduled to deliver in summer 2019, with pre-leasing slated to begin in fall 2018.
“The robust infrastructure investment along State Street combined with growing enrollments presented the perfect opportunity to bring new, highly amenitized student housing to West Lafayette,” said JJ Smith, president of CA Student Living. “We believe RISE on Chauncey will draw from a large base of students, including those from other countries, looking for lifestyle-oriented housing in a pedestrian-to-campus location with nearby retail and entertainment.”
When complete, the development will be the tallest building in West Lafayette, with 15 stories of residences set atop 11,000 square feet of street-level retail space and three levels of underground parking.
“Thanks to recently relaxed building height restrictions in West Lafayette, residents at RISE on Chauncey will enjoy sweeping views of the city, Wabash River and adjacent campus,” said Smith. “They will also appreciate the convenience of being at the center of the vibrant nightlife along Chauncey Avenue and within a 10-minute walk to just about any campus building.”
RISE on Chauncey will include a mix of studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 350 to 1,300 square feet, with private baths off most bedrooms. Each residence will feature woodgrain flooring and luxury kitchens with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. Apartments will also be outfitted with contemporary furnishings, a 48-inch flat-screen TV and in-unit laundry.
In addition, RISE on Chauncey will boast 9,000 square feet of indoor amenity space across four levels, including a 2,600-square-foot fitness center and yoga studio and 1,500-square foot study lounge on the second level. Additional study and social lounges will be located on the 14th, 15th and 16th floors. Outdoors, an expansive 17,000-square-foot rooftop deck will include a pool and hot tub, as well as a fire pit, grilling stations and a variety of seating configurations where residents can relax and unwind.
“In creating common areas that encourage interaction among residents, RISE at Chauncey will serve as a starting point for students to begin fostering connections that will likely extend beyond their college days into their professional pursuits,” said Smith.
Students living at RISE on Chauncey will also have access to CA Student Living programming, designed to enhance study habits, encourage prudent financial planning and assist in attaining career goals.
St. Louis-based Brinkmann Constructors will serve as the project’s general contractor, while Boston-based Shepley Bulfinch has been retained as architect of record.
